From Rehab to National Champion

How Elastro Became My Secret Weapon

As someone who’s spent a lifetime on the tennis court, I’ve faced more than my share of injuries—shoulder strain, elbow pain, wrist tweaks, mid-back tightness, and nagging issues in my knees and ankles. Sometimes, it felt like my body couldn’t keep up with my passion. I needed something that could help me train smarter, rehab properly, and keep improving without breaking down.

That’s exactly why I created Elastro—a compact, resistance-based tool that completely changed the way I prepare, recover, and perform.

Strength Meets Flexibility

Elastro helped me rebuild strength in small, stabilizing muscles I had neglected for years. I could target my rotator cuff, elbow joint, wrist mobility, and core strength, all without using heavy weights. The adjustable resistance bands let me control the intensity, and I could train anywhere—home, hotel, or courtside.

Rehab and Injury Prevention

When my mid-back tightened up or my knees flared up, I turned to Elastro to stretch, stabilize, and activate. It gave me the perfect balance of mobility and resistance, allowing me to keep rehabbing while continuing to train.

Performance on Court

With consistent use, I noticed real improvements in my tennis:

Faster reactions

More explosive movement

Better control on my strokes

Less pain after long matches

I wasn’t just recovering—I was leveling up

🏆 The Results

Elastro became a key part of my daily routine, and it paid off big time:

I won the NorCal Qualifier 40+ tournament, securing a Golden Ticket to Nationals.

Most recently, I reached the semifinals of a Gold Cup event, holding my own against top competition from across the country.

In Arizona, at the National Championship Tournament, I battled through intense matches to win the title and become National Champion.

💥 One Tool, Endless Possibilities

Elastro isn’t just for injury rehab—it’s my go-to for stretching, warming up, strengthening, and staying match-ready. Whether you’re recovering from an injury or aiming for a title, this tool delivers.

If it helped me go from nagging pain to National Champion, imagine what it could do for you.

I started playing tennis during the pandemic. Up until then, I had never played a single match in my life—not even casually. Like many people searching for something to stay active and sane during that strange time, I picked up a racquet and started hitting. I quickly joined a local flex singles league to see what this sport was really about. I began in the 3.0 division, not knowing what to expect, but I was hooked right away.

From there, I progressed to the 3.25 division, and eventually 3.5. But that’s when things started to change. I hit a plateau. Matches became tougher, my body was breaking down, and I started dealing with injuries—my shoulder, elbow, knees, and even my back started acting up. That’s when I realized I couldn’t just rely on athleticism anymore. I needed to clean up my technique, understand what I was doing wrong, and build a game I could sustain.

That’s when I met Coach Adi Zilberstein—and everything shifted.

Adi is a former Division 1 college player with a deep knowledge of the game and an incredible eye for technique. But more than that, he has a gift for communicating complex concepts in a simple, actionable way. He quickly spotted the inefficiencies in my strokes, my footwork, my court positioning—things I didn’t even realize I was doing wrong.

At the time, I didn’t even have a proper backhand. I was slicing everything because I was afraid to hit through the ball—I didn’t trust it. I had no feel, no shape, no control. But Adi believed I could develop a one-handed backhand, and he patiently worked with me until I started trusting it too. At first, it was just about making contact. Then it became about finding timing, shape, spin. Slowly but surely, my backhand went from a weakness I avoided to one of the shots I look forward to hitting the most. It’s now one of my favorite weapons on the court.

Adi didn’t just teach me strokes—he taught me how to think. He helped me understand tactics, shot selection, recovery patterns, and how to read my opponents. He was always available to give feedback, analyze match footage, and even watch some of my matches in person. He truly cared about my progress, and that made all the difference.

Not long after working with him, I was moved up to the 4.0 division. I felt like a new player—more solid, more confident, more complete.

A few months later, that transformation came full circle:
I won the NorCal Qualifier for the USTA National 40+ Championship, earning a Golden Ticket. Then, against tough national competition, I won Nationals. From a complete beginner during the pandemic to a national champion—it still feels surreal. And Coach Adi was a big part of that journey.
